Stop Teaching our Kids To Kill

Written by Lt. Col. Dave Grossman and Gloria DeGaetano.

This book was written well before the video games of Grant Theft Auto Vice City and 25 to Life were put out as video games. The authors detail how our youngsters are being desensitized to killing by watching media violence and playing violent video games. Lt. Col Grossman also believes that movies, TV and video games are conditoning and teaching chidlren the mechanics of killing without any consequence.

Much of what is written is true and we can see it for ourselves. The more kids play video games the less they are learning how to cope. The authors do an excellent job in relaying what a "healthy adjusted kid should be exposed" and what violence in the media and video games are actually doing

I would ;ove to read a follow up to this book detailing their thoughts on the new and ultra graphic violent games that are out now.

I have been to Col. Grossman's seminars several times and never tire of listening to him speak. Some people are sheep and then there are the sheep dogs.

The book reads relatively quick and although not a shocker in relevation, makes a total sense as to what is happening.

I read Generation Kill and there were references made by the young Marines that some of the firefights reminded them of a video game. Go figure.
