For whatever reason my 27 year old daughter likes to go hiking in remote areas by herself..( yeah I know) I have coerced her into applying for her Concealed Carry...Since the short sword she carries ( Think Underworld) is a little bulky.
Does anyone own one of these or at least shot one?

Sorry, I haven't fired one. I briefly looked at one while on leave last month, for my wife. If weight wasn't a consideration I'd suggest a Sig-Sauer. Since it is, my suggestion would start with a Kel-Tec and end with the Ruger LCP.

Thanks that was my next choice.

I agree with Jody on 380 choice, although, one might need to consider what she is defending against, two or four legs.

Two legs, up close and personal.... I suppose If nothing else she can always carry my J frame air weight with 38 cal glaser safety slugs and crimson trace laser grips.
The more I read regarding the Bodyguard the more problems people reported having....I'll look into the Ruger LCP next. Those seem to be flying off the shelves.

One you might want to check out would be the Bersa 380. It's a good pistol for the money and it handles very well. I had one and have sold several and so far all the responses from folks that I know that have them is good. The one I had would eat anything, hollow points included.
ETA...
The 380 wouldn't be my first choice. That would be either M&P9C or Glock 19. Both are a little bigger but pack a whole lot better punch than a .380
Still, a 380 is better than the short sword.

And a Glock 19 would not work...why?
