I'm in need of a good rear iron site for an M-4. It should have both elevation and windage. I'd prefer that it is a flip-up as well, and obvioulsy fit on a Picatinny rail. Does anyone have any good suggestions?

The best overall that I've found have been the barrel type that (used to ?) comes with the SR-25. Next to that, the issue BUIS is pretty handy. Both are, however, relatively expensive.

The Matech is the current GI issue works pretty well when new but we have had some that will "pop up" from recoil especially when on auto. Samson Arms makes a low profile BUIS that locks in both positions up/down and is push button deploy, I have have both and prefer the Sampson.

I've been using a Midwest ERS BUIS with no problems.
Are you co-witnessing with optics?

Negative optics - just want the iron sights without carrying handle. My carrying handle connects via a Picatinny rail.

Then any of the offered optics will work for you. Just depends on your wallet and preference of manufacturer.

Troy Industries BUIS. I have several sets of them and have been using them for years. Very robust and worth a look.
