I think this school will be the way to go....at least to get my feet wet in this business. I know no one school will give you everything you need, but this school seems to be on the level and that is more valuable to me than any promises the other schools make on a website....especially when they cant bother to call you back.

You can always go to other specialty schools if you need more, or augmented, training. Im thinking of hitting CRI's CT course later. If I can afford it that is. If I can get to work, Ill save up for that one and take it on while on leave. You cant go wrong with a CT cert on your resume.

BTW...Whoever said Christians are to lay down and give up, never read this passage. Jesus is a warrior, he was just performing "Black Ops" back then...first DELTA operative...lol.

I feel ya' man. The only issue I have is trying to get 4-6 other people on-board to go to a school that they haven't heard of.
One of the guys in my group trained with TSI for like a month straight and already has his "expectations".

Have him talk to the contact you spoke with. If he had prior trianing and especially experience then he can be an asset to the group. The guy I spoke with told me that they will listen to anyone that has a better mousetrap and can show that it is viable and safe. If your buddy can keep an open mind he can learn new or differnt ways of doing something. Its better to have 10 different remedies to one problem than 10 problems and only one generic remedy.

Just my outlook on it. I feel like you can never get too much training....especially if you can afford it. If nothing else, I will have this trianing to draw on in LE work as well, especially since our SO does protective work for visiting VIPs

Agreed.
Our Highway Patrol does the Governor's Detail (public info).
Who does it in TX?

Same here, but if we have a visiting VIP the SO gets to help. Sara Palin was here last weekend and the SO guys got to help. Made overtime from the detp. since it is an assignment, and the security co. that handles her details paid them on top of that. Made more that weekend than if they went over seas.

I know at the end of Phoneix, a G4S recruiter will interview those that complete the course for suitablitiy and a shot at a gig, if one exists or on the books for the future.

Have you looked at ITG (www.ITG4.com) Dave Johnson and crew are well thought of and put together a great product.

Disclaimer: I am a adjunct for them and have attended just about all of their proprietary EP course work, HRE and weapons packages.

Very much oriented to the traditional EP model, the HRE is as one would think an HRE course is.

The guys are all very experienced professionals as well as formally trained instructors so the methods are gtg.

No never heard of them. The HRE is just a weapons course? Do they offer any PSD courses that aren't listed?

I stumbled across a school while surfing the web. www.specopsystems.com they are based in TX and can offer TCLEOSE credit for any courses that are taken. Of coures your admin secretary can send in any schooling you go to for credit, but these guys are TX based instructors. If anyone has any info...shoot!
