Has anybody here tried P90x yet?
I have been told by several people that the first week is pretty bad, so we will see...I'll be starting today after running.
Any tips tricks on recovery time?
Thanks for any info.

I am on crossfit/weightlifting...it's got the same benefit and you're not paying 300 bucks for the video...or you can just download it for free on the net...P90X is just a fancy name for crossfit...it's good if you put the effort into the workout and not cheat, what I mean by that is you're always using the correct form and giving all your intensity for the workout...other than that, just be cautious on what your fitness level, you're age and overall health standard because the workout is intense. Have fun doing it, I am...lol.

Crossfit is just a branded name for circuit training, which I did in the Marine Corps over 25 years ago. Nothing new there and NO, crossfitters are NOT elite athletes.
Rant off on that.
Just make sure you stretch and stretch before and after. Warming up properly will ease much of the pain you will experience. It is only an ass kicking if your mentality lets it be.

I've been doing P90X, P90X+ and his 'One on One' videos for a few years now. I love it and I'm in the best shape I've been in years.
The ab-ripper is a bitch. I found one of his old Power 90 ab workouts and started with that. If you can just go ahead and do the ab-ripper though, I would just suck it up and do it. You'll be glad you did. I wasn't ready for it when I started and needed an alternative.
If you follow the routine as designed, you shouldn't be concerned about a recovery time. It's all built-in. Another thing I did back when I started, was to start out slow. ie. I didn't do each full workout the first week. I let my body get used to the intensity a bit the first week by doing half the workout (many workouts repeat) I then went full bore the second week. That worked for me and it kept that initial soreness down.
Good luck and let us know how it's going.

Tuesday I chose not to run because the P90x for the night was Plyometrics... which took everything I had....
Wed. I tryed to run but only made it 3 miles my legs were still killing me from the tuesday night. Then I chose to climb off and do "Shoulders and arms" was'nt to bad...
Today I ran my 5 miles in 43:26 for a average of 8.39 per mile. I'm going to grab a bite to eat and do the P90x Yoga, sounds interesting.. LOL!! I wonder what I'm in for ..I have never tried Yoga before..
