I bought a Scout Squad last July and never got to the range with because of a quick turn around. I will be putting optics on it when I get home and I am starting my homework now.
What are your opinions on optic set ups and why? I have started to lean to the Aimpoint M3 personally.

I guess it depends what you would be using it for.
I would get the M3 (that's the night vision compatible one, right?) and leave space for a magnifier. I'm a huge fan on the Aimpoint.
Or maybe a cool ACOG with an attached reflex sight. I don't know if Trijicon makes and ACOG that is barreled for the Scout Squad, but it would be nice if they did.

I used an M-3 in Afghanistan with a Larue 150 mount. It served me well.

Aimpoint or EoTech, especially some of the new stuff. There are reticles for the .308 available.
Some of the newer Leupold 1X offerings are neat but what really matters is your planned battle carry. What range are you expecting or preparing to engage at?
