Elephant trek, scuba or snorkel, beach bumming (don't really recommend Patang beach unless your into partying). Saim Park (has shows and small festival type things outside). Hitting "James Bond island or Phi Phi day trip. Fishing if your into that.

Just a few off the top of my head.

Thanks Sponge,

Looking for a place to go where it's quiet but close enough to the lively areas.

Your best bet unless you have a vehicle then I'd say would be Karon Beach

about 1hr or so drive from airport.

Karon, still on Phuket?

Got any specific resorts, etc. in mind?

Karon Beach is on the west side of Phuket. Go down to the Lotus on the north side of Phuket Town and head west at the major intersection. Plenty of signs. Lots of stuff to do there, but only a 400 baht tuk-tuk ride to Patong. I just stayed in Phuket Town and "commuted" to Patong on the weekends.

I had a condo, and didn't have the scratch to stay at any resorts. A lot depends on your wallet.

Sorry I am not checking in so regularly now that I am out in the bush, else I'd be glad to help you out more.

I'm about 12 minutes south of the Thai border at Koh Kong, Cambodia, now. MUCH less expensive, but a lot less fun than Phuket! Very Happy

Chook di kruup!

kpel,

Does Phuket have those farmer's markets still?
I heard for like a US buck you and your baby-doll could eat a full meal. But it's recommended to use Baht there right?
