Guys, I gotta apologize for the double posts. The internet here can get a little sketchy sometimes and when it renews, it will post a second time.

I Have many 1911's. My favorite is the Colt Gold Cup. It tends to shoot any load you put in it. Sissy loads up to Sizzle loads without changing any springs. I had a Kimber Raptor II, but found that the Colt would out shoot, out function and generally run circles around the Kimber.
I also own a S&W model 945 out of their Performance Center Custom Shop that runs a close second to the Gold Cup. |
I'll second the Gold Cup, I had a Kimber TLE and dumped it for a Springfield Operator and champion operator both Springfields like the Colt have been great guns.

The 1911 is just a solid platform. I've never met someone who hated theirs.

I think you should go the extra bucks and go with the Springfield Mil. Spec. I have been out with my friends with other brands and was still impressed with my Springfield (as were they). It has a realy nice trigger pull like a match model and has never missed a beat the only hang ups were cheap mags and out of spec reloads. If you practice instinctive shooting it is right there even more so then the highpower or others.
All the best and happy hunting

2cats I just thought maybe you were posting under the influence or old age was catching up with you.

Old age doesn't catch up to you, it sneaks up on you.
