I've completed DoS embassy training, currently waiting on clearance to deploy to Kabul.

I've tried to read all the DBA government benefits stuff but I guess I don't understand it. Do I need medical insurance? All immediate and pressing problems will be treated by US med staff in country. (?) But what if I get messed up and need a bunch of rehab? Not covered right?

I've tried a couple of insurance agents and companies and haven't had any luck finding one that will insure a contractor in a war zone. Anybody have some better info or advice they'd like to pass on?

I appreciate it and my apologies if this has been resolved already. I tried searching the forum couldn't find solid answers.
