I agree about the MMA comment. I think there are two versions of MMA. The first one is taking different styles of fighting arts and blending them together for your personal needs. The second version and the most common is the sport version where two guys fight in the cage with rules, weight limits, time limits and a referee to stop it when the

goes bad.
I prefer the first version. I train and teach BJJ for my groundfighting and grappling, Muay Thai and boxing for my stand-up, and I train in Kali for my edge and impact weapons which is for multiple opponents or a deadly weapons encounter other than firearms. Of course my is Glock for those gun toting gang bangers that want to go to an early grave.
I am covered in all areas of combat that one could engage on a street. Like I mentioned in my earlier post....training is the key to it all. I train and teach everyday....it is my job now and everyday I train with realism...sparring.
My body gets punished and sometimes I even break a bone hear and there. However I always believe in being prepared for an attack and training is my insurance. Some of my friends call me paranoid but if they had seen the

I have seen when I worked the streets they would have a different opinion about it. Every street Cop knows what I am talking about. It is a fucked up world out there and my family and I have to be in it.
I agree with the bean counters remark......these guys have no clue what a cop needs to survive. All suits care about is liability and man power. When I was a DT instructor we had to teach some crappy stuff to the recruits and advanced guys. We tried to make training more realistic but they were afraid of someone getting hurt. Well it might happen here and there but it needs to be done. It was frustrating for sure.
