Are vacations generally paid? I ask out of curiosity, and because if Blackwater pays $550-$600 a day, 60 days on 30 off, and if you aren't paid on off days then it works out to be about $132K a year, which seems kind of anemic for BW.

Some Companies pay while on Vacation but, The daily pay sucks. And you only get 50% of your pay while on Vacation. So, you are actually doing pretty good.

When they offer you a job be sure and ask them all of your payroll questions and then start negotiations on what you feel you are worth... Untill then there are too many people in the press and outside of the industry convinced we all make too much money based on speculation and bad intel. I look at it this way if am walking down the street and meet someone I barely know, why would I talk about how much money I make???
