Sorry to hear you burned in like that, or had the bad landing. Glad to hear that it wasn't worse, and that you're getting along on the road to recovery. Though I had to wince a bit as I read that the guy (paramedic????) tried to set your compound fracture that's poking through your boot. Have to question that one. Take it easy and good luck to ya!

Feet and knees WERE together, but I had my feet set wrong to fall in the other direction. I released the toggles like I was using a Kadet chute, but was supposed to hang on to them through the landing. I caught a little pendulum swing in the other direction, and got my right foot in a divot in the meadow on the DZ. SNAP! It didn't hurt all that bad, but I did get a sick feeling in my stomach. A little shocky, but lucid enough to know exactly what I had done. I actually realized it about a second before I landed. Too late to do anything about it.

Oh yeahh. Remember the sour stomach a bit. Snapped my (non parachute accident) tib-fib, but was umcomplicated (impacted a little but not poking out). I always have to tell myself during recovery of whatever, take my time and listen (for the most part) to the Doc's. Waiting for some pics or video. Take it easy kpel.

Edited: My board-fu is weak. You can see pix of the op at www.internationalairbo...-13-0.html Unfortunately, they are not captioned.

I am working on getting mine re-sized and hosted. Video should be about a week, as the DVD is being sent to me by snail-mail from France. One of the retired French Marines is sending it for me. We had a great bunch of guys.
