HK is right,

I ecumed largely as the caribean islands than midddle-east and the australian, the New-zealand and the french New caledonia.

Sint-Marteen (Saint-martin & saint-Barthelemy) are so excellents area for (specially) American, I spend a couple of years and worked even there ; it's a paradise for US customers. All people talk, eat, understand and think American, there's even the Direct Tv Satellite and people receive easily and free the HBO channel (US and Latino).

I love St-Martin and St-Barthelemy ; it's great and warm even in December : you can diving, snorkling, swimming, water-skiing, etc and to get a lot of sunny days.

I promised to friends to me ONE WEEK IN ST-MARTIN ON MY CHARGE after our first gig in the sandbox (in case I shall be back entirely of course) dur the love I have for this part of the world.

CJ

Hi all. Well I'm a Scot who has been living in SE Asia for 7 years. If you can live with high humidity at times, then I would recommend the following areas, and yes I’ve been with the family and they are all great places. Koh Samui Thailand, a great little island and child friendly, great resorts, good food and low risk. Stay away from the south due to recent threats.

Please remember that most SE Asian countries have a Muslim population especially the Philippines and the largest Indonesia, but don't let it scare you off, as not everyone should be a stereotype. Be careful what you do and don't be a big mouth. Blend in and alternate your movements and stay away as much as possible form key sites LOTS OF WESTERN TOURIST IN ONE AREA and all should turn out to be a great holiday.

In places like Bali or the Philippines I tend to rent a private villa, house or shack and get a trusted friendly local driver to drive us around, as they know all the roads that are safe and quite, normally not your typical target sites.

Going to Bali is romantic and beautiful, great sites for the family, wild life parks etc and amazing dive sites in the north. Yes risk of bombings but mainly in the down town region (south) where a lot of the tourists are. I stayed in the mountainous region (north) and it was great. Bali is not cheap though.

Go on holiday as a local and not a tourist....

Well the list for SE Asia could go on. Let me know if I can be of further help. I would go to Egypt more than Dubai, even Jordan. Once you start diving, sight seeing and hearing your loved ones laugh or smile you tend to forget the sandbox pretty quickly.

Have fun wherever you go

CW

That's the same time frame Chris will be home for his first vacation. What does CTO mean?? We are actually meeting in Victoria, BC, Canada for 7 days and then we'll come home (Idaho) for about 2 1/2 weeks. Then, back to Iraq for him :(

Please let us know how greece is, we'll be meeting somewhere for 25 days in Nov or Dec.

Have fun!

Dear Korrie,

As I've said to Frank, Michelle and Nigel ; as I shall get any contract in the sandbox, so coming back home (ENTIRELY), I promised them to be there together for a week and shall be my guests.

Korrie, as a friend you shall be the welcome too, I hope only to get this opportunity for the dandbox.

regards : CJ
