Looking for anyone with experience in Cyprus!!!
I am going on leave soon and will be spending a few days in Cyprus. Just looking for info about any particular security threats or areas to avoid.
Also if anyone has any good advice about Malta.
Thanks in advance.

Cyprus rocks .... the Greek side of the island is usually safe enough ... apart from rampaging UK soldiers on nights out!!!! A few more safety issues exist in the North side as it is Turkish .... apart from some occasional flare up of tempers between the Turks and Greeks ... nothing too terrible happens in Cyprus.

Malta is good to go ... avoid Valetta as it is a shithole but in general the only thing worth worrying about is theft from cars and hotel rooms, leave nothing of value in the car and put valuables in the hotel deposit boxes.

Both relatively good holiday spots .... loads of Brits go there and large expat communities, many nightclubs , excellent food , all year weather.... can be a bit expensive around the local night life areas regarding beer etc....

Cyprus is wonderful i know it very well..born there!
- known as the island of love . Although these days its quite a down-to- earth tourist attraction sun.. sea ...sand etc...
I will agree that it is expensive so one should take care in that department

Apart from that...
larnaca is the airport town..generally quiet
nicosia is the capital. administrative and formal
limassol is the proud port town - a little wilder as far as nightlife is concerned
ayia napa is what most outsiders have heard of ...nightlife is the real deal here...clubs , bars, madness and some great beaches

advice - enjoy the place and stay out of the politics

i will be there in April...and further..

So contact me for any info/help
